Drawing the Moment Before It Fades

By Noumier Tawilah

There’s a moment—right after the applause—when everything starts to blur.

The ideas, the energy, the emotions in the room—they begin to dissolve into hallway conversations, closed laptops, and flight schedules. You can almost feel it slipping away.

And yet, something lingers. Something can be captured. Not with a voice recorder. Not with a spreadsheet. But with ink.

That’s where my practice begins.

As a creative artist and founder of Marker.ae, I specialize in transforming spoken words and live experiences into hand-drawn visual summaries. Not to decorate, but to preserve. To give form to something otherwise fleeting.

The Art of Holding On

Every event—whether a summit, a strategy session, or a creative workshop—holds moments of clarity. Sparks. Shared vision. Moments that don’t always make it into the meeting minutes or recap emails.

My role is to catch those moments in real time. To draw the essence before it fades.

Through live graphic recording, I create visual summaries that help teams remember what mattered, what moved them, and what they wanted to do next. These are not just visuals. They are tools for reflection, alignment, and often, transformation.

Why It Matters

We live in a time of constant information and quick exchanges. In cities like Dubai, where everything moves fast, moments are easy to lose. But not every moment should be forgotten.

Visual notes allow ideas to stay. They create a shared language for teams, especially in diverse environments. They help leaders remember what they stood for. They help organizations build from where they left off.

My Approach at Marker.ae

Every line I draw is a listening act. It’s a way of interpreting emotion, energy, tone—not just words. I sketch for meaning. I draw for memory.

At Marker.ae, I bring together my passion for storytelling and years of experience in visual communication to serve clients across industries. Whether it’s a bold keynote or a quiet discussion, I’m there to witness, translate, and shape the visual landscape of the conversation.

A Visual Archive of Thought

When the lights go down and the chairs are empty, what’s left?

For my clients, what remains is a visual artifact. A hand-drawn echo of the moment when things became clear. Something they can share, revisit, build on.

That’s the power of visual storytelling. And for me, it’s always been about more than drawing—it’s about making sure nothing important disappears.
